Step back in time…
Fort Uncompahgre (un-come-paw-gray) was first established as a fur trading post around 1826, by Antione Robidoux near the present sight of Delta , Colorado. Fort Uncompahgre today recreates the sights, sounds, the feelings and the experience of visiting the original post.
Rated one of the top tours in “Best Places to Take Your Kids in Colorado.”
FUN, EDUCATIONAL, ENTERTAINING
You may choose to take part in activities or just listen & learn! Visitor Center with great books , blankets and fur trading supplies!
At Fort Uncompahgre you will be guided and entertained by interpreters clothed in period attire during April thru October and then self-guided tours the remainder of the year. Our interpreters still trap beaver, make buckskins, knap arrowheads and work the forge. These chores help create the feeling of stepping back in time
